About
Built for the “file too large” moment
ReduceSize helps you shrink everyday files until they fit the limits on email, job boards, school portals, and chat apps—without an account or a desktop install.
Who this is for
Anyone staring at a red “file too large” message: students uploading ID photos, applicants attaching résumés and scanned forms, freelancers emailing decks, and people sending a GIF that chat apps refuse. You already have the file—you just need a lighter copy that still looks usable.
The problem we solve
Phones and scanners create multi‑megabyte files by default. Upload boxes still speak in kilobytes. The usual path is a maze of mystery converters, confusing export menus, and downloads that somehow end up larger than what you started with. ReduceSize stays on that narrow job: make the file smaller, show the new size clearly, and help you check quality before you submit.
How a typical visit goes
- Open the tool that matches your format (PDF, image, photo, GIF, or a KB preset).
- Drop one file or a small batch.
- Pick quality, a max edge, or a hard KB target—whatever the form printed.
- Review the new size, open Compare or Preview when it matters, then download or ZIP.
If a setting change didn’t apply, use Re-run on that row. If you’re still over a printed ceiling, the over-target tips suggest a tighter next step.

How we think about quality
Smaller isn’t always better. Photo-heavy files often shrink a lot; clean text documents may already be compact. When we can’t beat the original size without making things worse, we keep your file and label it—better an honest original than a larger “compressed” download. Always open the result once before you submit it elsewhere.
What we don’t do
- No account wall and no watermark on your downloads
- No “pro” maze of unrelated editing features—just size, quality, and clear readouts
- No pretending every file can hit every KB ceiling; some scans and long animations need a tighter crop or a higher limit
Privacy in plain words
Size reduction happens in your browser session for the tools we offer today. We don’t ask you to upload files to a personal account. Details live on the privacy page; rules of use live on terms.
How the site is organized
Hub tools teach the full Options panel. Target pages assume you already know the number printed on a form, so the KB aim is pre-filled and the guidance matches that ceiling. That split keeps each page useful instead of repeating the same essay under a different title.
What’s next
A video size reducer for common phone and MP4 uploads is next. If something’s broken, confusing, or missing, tell us—product feedback is welcome even when we can’t reply to every note the same day.
